Hex Bolts DIN 933 / ISO 4017 — Fully Threaded Structural Fasteners
The fully threaded hex bolt to DIN 933 / ISO 4017 is the standard bolt of structural steelwork, machinery and infrastructure. The full grip length allows the nut to be set anywhere along the shank, giving flexibility in assembly and clamping thickness. Supplied in strength grades 4.8, 8.8 and 10.9, in carbon steel, alloy steel and stainless A2/A4 — from a bolt manufacturer with in-house threading and heat treatment.

Features and Benefits
- Full thread to DIN 933 / ISO 4017 — one bolt covers a range of grip lengths
- Hexagon head with chamfered corners for safe wrench engagement
- Grades 4.8 / 8.8 / 10.9 cover general, structural and high-strength applications
- Stainless A2-70 / A4-80 versions for corrosive and hygienic environments
- Plain, black oxide, zinc, hot-dip galvanized and DACROMET finishes to match the service environment
Typical Applications
- Structural steel connections with nuts and washers
- Machinery bases, frames and guards
- Building services, pipework supports and cable trays
- Infrastructure: barriers, signage, solar structures
- Maintenance and MRO stock supply

Material and Performance
- Carbon steel grades: 4.8 (min. 400 MPa tensile), 8.8 (min. 800 MPa), 10.9 (min. 1,000 MPa)
- Stainless: A2-70 / A4-80 to ISO 3506 mechanical properties
- Threads rolled after heat treatment for fatigue strength; dimensional sampling per lot to DIN 933 tolerances
- Material test reports to EN 10204 3.1 available with each consignment
Installation Guidelines
- Assemble with a matching nut and washer; the washer protects the bearing face and spreads the load.
- For grade 8.8 M10 and above, torque with a calibrated wrench to the designer's value, not by feel.
- At least one full thread should protrude past the nut when finally tightened.
- Galvanized bolts in structural connections may require specific nut lubrication — follow the coating system rules.
- Store by grade and finish in separate bins — mixed stock is the most common site error.
